It has been great to see everyone back in the building.  Well, in the golf shops anyway.  Thank you to all of those that have visited us for lunch or dinner on the patio over the last few weeks. It has certainly had a different feel, but it’s fantastic to be back!

We officially opened the restaurants last month to outdoor dining and what a tremendous response we had from members and non-members alike.  There is no question that our outdoor settings provide a much better ambiance than other restaurants setting up tents and tables in parking lots.  That being said, it created a demand unlike anything we have seen before. 

As members, we always want to be able to take care of you in terms of getting a reservation at our restaurants.  But that’s the kicker, a reservation.  As we move forward, we promise we will always be able to get a table for our members, but only if you make a reservation with us.  We had a few instances in which members had to wait to get a table and were in essence, turned away.  But again, we had no idea the level of demand we were going to see and to prevent that in the future, please always call ahead for a reservation.  You may not always need one, but it at least gives us a chance to accommodate you at the busiest times.  Our Director promises, if we can’t get you a reservation, dinner is on him! (but the caveat is you must call ahead!)

We are off and running!  Two events in the books and plenty more to come.  And of course the biggest event of the year, The Member-Guest at Atlantic City CC kicks off this month! And as a reminder, below is the list of upcoming scheduled events.  Please call the golf shop to sign-up for any event.

Scotland Run is very sensitive course when it comes to summer heat.  The majority of our rough is fine fescue which is very pretty at most courses where it grows tall and turns golden brown blowing in the wind.  What it does not like is the summer heat and cart traffic.  With the hottest months of the year upon us, we all need to do our part to make sure we limit cart traffic.

At Scotland Run, we ask that you only drive carts in the fairways and the cart paths.  Many facilities encourage you to drive in the rough instead, but that is not the case here.  Carts should only be in the rough when entering and exiting the fairways.  Long story short, please only drive your carts in the fairways!

As we were getting into the “meat” of our golf season, we in the grounds department still had a number of projects to button up.  As many of you may have noticed, we are building a wedding ceremony area off the back the clubhouse.  In conjunction with that undertaking, we have also been working to complete a couple projects on the course. This past week we completed two such items on the 7th hole.

Our first project was to install a “new” forward tee on #7 which as many of you know, is one of the best tee shots on the course.  It will reward a great tee shot down the left side, but you really have to get a hold of it to see that reward.  Then, depending on where the pin is, it will take another daunting shot to get it close.  We have heard from many of you that an additional shorter tee would bring that reward back into play.  So, we decided to add that tee, discretely tucked away on the left side.  It’s going to take a little while to get it knitted in and ready for play, but it will be ready for play this season.The goal is to open it for the Ladies Member/Guest.

Our other project on #7 involved planting arborvitae shrubs around the back tee boxes. We did this to create more intimacy, and privacy for golfers when teeing it up.  We hope to continue these types of project’s around our perimeter in the coming years.

Are you moving the hole? Are you taking the green’s temperature? Are you fixing ballmarks? These are all questions that I have gotten when golfers see me using the tool that you see here in this picture. The actual answer is none of the above.

While it may not look like much, this is actually a very sophisticated piece of equipment called a moisture meter. We use the meters every day this time of year and typically take between 20 and 30 readings on each green every morning. This meter gives us a percentage moisture content in the soil. We use this information to determine the water needs of the greens. It can help us decide if we need to water the entire green or just certain areas. In general, it helps us to be more efficient in our water usage so that we are not over-watering or under-watering. Putt the short ones and swing hard in case you hit it and we’ll see you on the course.

We were ready to reopen our indoor dining this month, but that was obviously put on hold. As the hot and humid days approach, we hope to be able to open indoors soon, but with still only outdoor dining, we can’t stress enough to call ahead for a reservation.

Surf n Turf night every Wednesday from 4pm with a new menu starting at $29.95

Sunday Brunch every Sunday from 10am-2pm with a la carte offerings like Bananas Foster French Toast and Sirloin Steak & Eggs

Plus we have added several new items to our daily lunch and dinner menus!

Live Entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening


Sunday Brunch is now Sunday Breakfast from 10am-2pm. The buffet is not being offered, but similar to the Taproom Bar & Grille, we are offering breakfast options a la carte including Chicken & Waffles and Crab Eggs Benedicts

Plus we have added several new items to our daily lunch and dinner menus!

Live Entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening


Fantastic Italian offerings including the staples Chicken Parmesan and Eggplant Lasagna plus the made-from-scratch Meatballs, Bolognese Sauce and let’s not forget the incredible Tomato Stack!



Now that you have been welcomed back in the golf shops and locker rooms, we hope you get to check out all of our new merchandise this year.  As a reminder for any full, 6-day, weekday, dual or single member, you will receive 10% off any apparel if charged to your member account.

It is most important that we remind you of our face-mask requirements when enterting the building. Now that the restaurant is open and more cutsomers are walking throughout the building, it is imperative that you have your masks on. So please, we are asking that everyone (and mandated by a current executive order) complies with all safety precautions when indoors and on the course.
