The good news is we are golfing again, but we will be following the guidelines laid forth to us which restricts our tee time inventory, the biggest component of that is that only twosomes will be allowed unless the group consists of immediate family, caretakers, household members or romantic partners. To try and allow as many members as we can to be able to golf in the fairest way possible, we have come up with the following temporary plan for tee times:
Based on current weekend and weekday demand, we will be operating the courses as Member-only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the following. Depending on your membership level, you can call to make tee times for Friday, Saturday and Sunday as follows:
Full, 6-Day, Weekday, Dual and Single Members: Can make tee times 7 days in advance.
Associate Members: Can make tee times 5 days in advance.
We will be open for phone calls beginning at 9am each day and will book on a first come first served basis. At the 48-hour window, you can then make additional tee times on top of your weekly limit of two as all members have then had a fair chance to book.
Monday thru Thursday you can continue making tee times per the standard booking policy of 30-days in advance and tee times will be available online or by phone. You must call the golf shops for tee times on the weekends.
We have three courses for you to play, so in allowing everyone a fair chance at booking, everyone should be able to get their tee times. We ask for your patience and understanding as this is new to all of us but we will do everything we can to accommodate your golfing requests.
The driving range and practice areas will now be open for use but the clubhouse and golf shops will remain closed. Some important things to remember: The clubhouse and golf shops will also remain closed. All of your charges will be billed to your account, or if you don’t have one, you will have to call into the golf shop with a credit card to pay before your round. All bunker rakes, ball washers, water coolers, etc have been removed from the course. The cups are placed upside down for you to putt your ball into the hole, but not have to touch the cup and flagstick. Lastly, carts will be available. We encourage walking during this time but carts will be available and limited to one person.
Note the superintendents wrote their sections before the announcement came that we could open up and we didn’t want to ask them to re-write it. It seemed they had more important things to do for a couple days before seeing you!
WE'RE TALKING PRACTICE
As we move closer and closer toward the beginning of May, I have to remind myself each morning that the tee sheet is empty. But I also remind myself that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and you will all be back soon to tell me that the greens are a little slow, or the fairways look like carpet. I can’t wait! Right now, without you (our members), it’s like we are just practicing. I am ready to start playing a real game.
But until we play a real game, we are not only practicing hard, but we are adding new wrinkles to our game plan! New wrinkles, like the renovated tee on # 4, a new cart path on # 3, and a new gold tee on # 13! We’ve even added some curbing around some greens and tees.
So the fact of the matter is we are not just practicing. We are trying to use this time to get better, healthier, stronger, and provide more value to our members.
Oh, and there’s more! Stay tuned ladies—when you get back out here look to the left side of # 7!!!

WE'RE TALKING BUNKERS
Wow. It still seems strange being out here every day and not seeing anyone out enjoying the golf course. These are certainly interesting times we are living in right now, but the staff and I are continuing to maintain the golf course so that we will be ready when you return. Aside from the regular maintenance tasks, we have been busy aerifying and seeding high traffic areas around the course. These areas are primarily where carts leave the cart path and then return to it. We have also begun the process of adding some much-needed bunker sand to some of the sand traps. You may encounter some soft lies in the bunkers while the new sand settles, but it will be a temporary inconvenience for a permanent improvement. We are all looking forward to having everyone back out here. I sincerely hope everyone is healthy and enjoying the extra time with your families and we’ll see you all soon. Putt the short ones and swing hard in case you hit it!

I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling that April seemed to last forever. All we can do is look forward, and that’s the theme of this month’s newsletter.
There has been so much negativity and sadness in the world lately. I can’t speak for everyone, but I’ve decided to focus on the positive and lighter things in my world. For the majority of my life, that has been the game of golf.
I truly love this game and all that it embodies. Most of all, I love how it brings people together. I’m not just talking about what happens between the first and last holes on the course. It’s everything that happens before and after. The friendships that are created, the groups within groups, the ridiculous arguments & debates and memories to last a lifetime. That is what being a member means to me, and I’m sure most of you would agree.
From all of us at Ottinger Golf, thank you for being a member with us, we truly consider you all family.

RIP DEAR FRIEND
Ottinger Golf is deeply saddened to announce that we lost one of our own. Ron Dandrea lost his battle with cancer this month. He was a great member and friend, but more importantly he was truly a one-of-a-kind father and person. It might sound cliché, but Ron was universally liked and was a real class act. He made every person on our staff feel important and special when he was on property. He never wanted us to make a fuss over him and made it a point to make us feel as if we were part of his extended family. Its guys like Ron that have always made Atlantic City CC unique and exemplify the FAMILY values we strive to continue. He will be missed beyond words.

It is very difficult for me to process this because Ron was such a bright light of positive energy that I suppose I felt that his raw optimism alone would overcome this disease.
